Howard's Draperies was founded in Boulder, Colorado in 1976 with a straightforward premise: measure carefully, fabricate honestly, and install with precision. Nearly five decades later, that premise has not changed — only the breadth of what we offer has grown.
What began as a custom drapery workroom has expanded into a full-service window treatment studio. We are an authorized Hunter Douglas dealer, a certified PowerView® motorization installer, and a specialist in composite, vinyl, and wood shutters — all under one roof, all installed by our own team.
We serve Boulder, Louisville, Lafayette, Superior, Longmont, Broomfield, and the surrounding Front Range communities. Our clients range from homeowners furnishing a single room to interior designers outfitting entire new builds. What they share is an expectation of quality and a preference for working with people who know their craft.
We are not a franchise. We are not a big-box showroom. We are a locally owned business with deep roots in this community, and we intend to keep it that way.

Howard's Draperies: nearly five decades serving Boulder
Howard's Draperies opens its doors in Boulder, Colorado.
Expanded into Hunter Douglas dealership, bringing motorized and specialty shading to Boulder-area homes.
Added composite and wood shutter fabrication and a full drapery alteration workshop.
Launched PowerView® motorization installations and exterior shade programs for Colorado's intense sun.
Nearly five decades of service — still family-owned, still measured and installed by the same trusted team.
